Speaker | Jennifer Christian Bridge City Bookkeeping

Presentation topic centered on services they provide for Non-profit Organizations and Registered Charities. For-profit business trained individuals don't usually know how the books should look. BCB offers mobile services to train staff, organize files or procedures and help these groups of passionate individuals run their organizations within CRA regulations. For example: Honorariums must not exceed 500 dollars per person, per year or they must be treated as payrolled employees. Furthermore, payroll records must be kept on file FOREVER in case of future WCB claims. Gifts from an NPO such as free beers at a party must be accounted for. Sales tax for the item, (that has not been collected if it was free to the consumer) must be paid to the government by the organization. Jennifer's business partner DeAnne, has taken courses in government administration and can comfortably advise on Parliamentary Procedures and proper filing. When those rules are not followed, your audit fee will increase as your 'business risk' increases. 'You don't know, what you don't know' and their hearts are ready to help charities and NPO's in need of guidance.
