Speaker | Mark Regier | Saskatoon Prairieland Park Corporation

Saskatoon Prairieland Park Corporation is the oldest corporation in Saskatchewan. It was incorporated in 1886. Mark Regier spoke to us about all the different types of events that are put on by Prairieland. People often think they are mainly the Ex but that is not the case. That us only one of many business oriented events that they host each year. Some examples of the community or trade shows they host are the Crop Production Show, Gardenscape, the Ex, Pet Expo, Saskatoon Fall Fair and others.

Prairieland has received a bit of federal money the last few years but they do not get any from the province or the city. They are self sufficient. They are a nonprofit corporation. Contrary to common belief, they are not owned or controlled by the Province of Saskatchewan or the City of Saskatoon.

Mark also spoke to us about being a member. Membership applications are $25 per year. That gets you the opportunity to volunteer for the various events and you also get free admission and parking at many of their shows.
