Speaker | Mike Jenkins | Candle Lake Resort

Mike was previously with the 722 Club as a representative of the Saskatoon Blades. He left in 2006 and began working with Candle Lake Resort. He returned through the resort in 2007. When the present owners of the resort purchased it in 2003, it was a 9 hole course. Since then they have added another 9 holes, a new convention centre, clubhouse and restaurant. They have added 12 rental cabins and are now adding more than 100 condominiums around the course. Phase I is presently underway. 20 of the new condos to be owned by private individuals can agree with the resort to rent the units out on a daily basis. The owner keeps 70% of the revenue and the resort receives 30% in exchange for doing all the work including booking and cleaning. The units in Phase II and III will not be eligible. 13 units in Phase I are still available.

The owners of the resort also have a construction company in Saskatoon, developing commercial space. They have done a few jobs already and are interested in receiving new work.

Mike had draws for 2 prizes. Keith and Sharon were the winners.
