Speaker | Tammy Teneyke | Fitness Focus

Fitness Focus has been in business in Saskatoon for 4 years. They have 2 gyms with certified personal trainers, day care and great equipment. They offer corporate packages where 5 or more members come from the same business. Their locations are at 1240 Ontario Ave and 150-2102 8th St E.

Tammy talked about some new proposed legislation that may affect the fitness business in general. Instead of members being locked into fixed term contracts with automatic renewals, the proposed new law will ony allow gyms to sell month to month memberships with a 30 day notice to terminate the membership. This will, among other possible things, protect consumers from the effects of business closures when they have a long term prepaid contract. Tammy states that Fitness Focus has already adjusted their membership plans to comply even though the proposed in not yet in effect.

Tammy answered several fitness related questions.
